The Bible gives us a clear answer.

Throughout Scripture, wise preparation is praised.

Proverbs 6 points to the ant, which stores provisions during seasons of abundance in preparation for the future. Joseph, under God's direction, helped Egypt prepare for seven years of famine by storing grain during years of plenty.

Preparation isn't fear.

Preparation is stewardship.

God entrusts us with financial resources not only for today's needs but also for tomorrow's responsibilities.

Retirement planning allows us to avoid becoming an unnecessary financial burden on others, continue supporting charitable causes, bless our children and grandchildren wisely, and remain generous even after our working years have ended.

Generosity doesn't have to stop when employment does.

In fact, many retirees discover they have more flexibility to serve financially and personally than ever before.

Of course, retirement planning should never become an obsession. Jesus warned against storing up treasures on earth while neglecting eternal priorities (Matthew 6:19-21).

Balance is essential.

Save diligently.

Spend wisely.

Give generously.

Trust completely.

When those four principles work together, financial planning becomes an expression of faith rather than fear.
